Girl, 12, shot in South Shore neighborhood

A 12-year-old girl was struck by a bullet for someone else Tuesday night in the South Shore neighborhood, police said.
The girl was struck in the left shoulder just after 8 p.m. on the 7700 Block of South Phillips Avenue, police said.
The girl was rushed to Comer Children's Hospital at the University of Chicago in serious condition, but her condition, according to police, stabilized.
Citing early reports, police said the child was standing on the sidewalk when a male walked up and fired at another male, but struck the girl.
No arrests had been made as Area South detectives continued their investigation.
